Another excellent Edublogs.org weblog
I read Chapters 4 and 5 last night. I like the ideas from three schools. Being such a novice, it is extremely helpful to hear what is being done elsewhere and also how it is being done. The schools were a great example of how the computer programs have been implemented and what guidelines were used. The other chapter was a great overview and had a ton of information.I was glad to see a page on setting up a Web Quest with links available.
Copyright is a extremely important topic. I learned a lot by reading through this information. Our school does make a point of trying to be aware of this issue. However, it is very confusing and I’m sure we all violate it at one time or another. In my classroom I try to think it out ahead of time so that I am not infringing upon others information. Most of what I do outside the basic curriculum I create myself. The internet and its use within my classroom are minimal at this point, but the more we use it the more of an issue it becomes.
Blogs, and Wiki, and RSSs….Oh My!!! Blogs, and Wiki, and RSSs….Oh My!!!
The primer is a concise font of straight forth useful information. I know what a blog is and does. I know what a wiki is and does, but RSS….I have never heard of before. However, it does sound like a useful tool and something about which I have a lot to learn. Can’t wait!
In February they asked, Do you want to know more about computers? Sure. I thought!! Why not attend SummerCore? What a great opportunity and I live 5 minutes away from Shorecrest. I should be able to make it by 9 o’clock in the morning after all, I’m up at 5:30 during the school year to make an hour drive south to teach. OOpppsss! Was I the last one here this morning? So………here I am and we’re talking about numbers….really big numbers times other really big numbers and making metaphors. I think I’ve got the gist of it, but have not intention of being the $33 winner of the week.
I finally have a blog site, but truth be know, I do not like to type or write and do not even like sitting to work at a computer. I see the potential for those who are interested and do want to know the basics. I can now write a bog and download media. I have a lot in common with this little girl.
It’s after lunch and we’ve moved on tho favorite web sites. Here are some school related ones that look good.
TeachersFirst had a variety of different topics.
Welcome to Judy’s blog!!
